A Little Bit About Me ...
The Person Behind The Camera
THE INSPIRATION BEHIND THE NAME
Hux & Brix Photography is named after my German Shorthaired Pointer, Huxley, and my Weimaraner, Brix. They are a never ending source of inspiration. They see life simply through innocent exploration with unapologetic curiosity and comfortable companionship - just happy being in each others space. Seeing their faces during the moment of exuberant realization when they understand we are about to embark on a car ride adventure is one of life's simple pleasures.
Photography is an art
It’s about finding extra-ordinary
In an ordinary place
I remember the day when I got my first SLR camera ( a gift from my parents) but little did I know that it would be the beginning of decades of searching for that great picture and the beginning of my current love of photography. Thankfully I have a husband that is often my subject and patiently waits while I try to get the "best" picture. My dogs are also frequently subjects that can grow tired of my lenses in their faces.
Great Company and Great Light Makes All The Difference
Brix is frequently my co pilot. While the rest of the pups (and husband) are sleeping, Brix eagerly waits for us to leave on our early morning adventures to catch the most perfect sunrises.
Shutterbugging in the Rhode Island Farmcoast area is one of my favorite pastimes. This is when I just breath; driving aimlessly until I’m suddenly inspired by perfect lighting or an unexpected subject. Tiverton/ Little Compton, RI provide endless bucolic pastures, rambling rock walls and breathtaking ocean views to fill the senses. I am excited to be able to share these moments with you.
